Broke
I’m really looking forward to a new series that I’m kicking off this weekend at NorthRidge called “Broke.” Though I’ve been teaching God’s Word for years, I still marvel at it’s relevance to today’s experiences and how excited I get about teaching it. I pray I never lose the sense of awe and wonder that comes with knowing and serving God. The following is a video we sent out highlighting the series.

I look forward to the talks. It’s a wonder how I look and my neighbors struggle and when I share with them how it is a blessing in disguise, with teaching our children the difference between “needs” and “wants”, they go away still choosing to worry and not turn to God.
I have to look at it that God has been gracious to me to open my eyes to His will.
It’s so sad how so many do not want to change. We want our own little comfortable routines…but that’s when we lose our meaning and purpose in life. Issac got comfortable and in choosing to keep his comfort, he disobeyed God by trying to give Esau the blessing instead of Jacob.
I find that God loves me by not allowing me to “get comfortable” that way, when something unexpected happens, I have a choice…God or me. His will or mine.
I pray that God puts the words He wants you to say on your lips to tell us what we must be told.

I am quite certain it will be interesting, this new series.
I have always been able to gain information and utilize it in my everdyay life to a much larger extent thanks to Brad and the others who I have had the benefit of listening/learning from @ Northridge over the years, I look forward to them !
The mistakes are not as severe as they once were ! I have answers that I can count on, questions and confusion are still there but slowly & surely certain things are & have been revealed, although being hard headed does come with disadvantages !
“Broke” has different definitions at least for me, mentally, spiritually, physically, being down those roads a few times, right on the razors edge.
Gives me a greater appreciation for the Life I have, So I am sure it will be beneficial and help, as they “services” always do

We were at the first service Saturday night. What a very intense and personal experience. It was as if Brad was speaking directly to me, but yet, many of my small group members were there and I knew he was speaking to them too. He was speaking to all of us. Thank you GOD for this message.

When talking about having a broken heart I realized another part of myself, why I do the things I do. When I come to the services, I learn more about myself than I could of even known before. That’s the best part of it all. Thank you.

This is just an idea for one of the worship songs. Since there is usually a contemporary or Top 40 song or older rock song that you tie into the nights talk.
Take a listen to Kenny Wayne Shepherds’, Everything Is Broken. Thanks
