Pimp My Podcast
I’ll be posting “Prayer…a Very Good Place to Start” part 2 tomorrow! Hope you’ll be back. But, for now, I wanted to share something a few of our young staff leaders put together for my CWC Podcast. Attached are 4 spoof introductions. Here’s my view: why waste a very funny inside joke by keeping it inside. So, I’m going to share them with you, and I’m going to ask you to vote on your favorite. Though it will surprise everyone, especially the young leaders, I will use the one with the most votes for my next podcast. So, I hope you’ll share this with as many people as you can. By sharing this with others and voting, you will definitely help to Pimp My Podcast. Here they are…

Awesome. These are amazing.

That opening is one bad mutha… (shut yo mouth!)
But I’m voting for the Shaft Intro! (Then we can dig it.)
Josh
HA! My vote goes for Shaft. (Can you did it? Right on . . . )
Nick Keebaugh
@Josh I agree.
Adam
Ok, I had to vote for the Love one. Josh is just so into it. Hip hop one is in the lead…definitely a good choice.
Rachel Hostler
I’ve listened to them all multiple times — in the Student Ministries office while they were recording them — the ‘Hip Hop Intro’ was the one which always made laugh out loud! It’s the clear winner in my mind. Kudos to Brad for letting the people decide on the winner!
Zach
#1 Hip Hop Intro – ma’ man, BP! phat beat yo!!
#2 Shaft Intro – cool, expected, kinda creepy
#3 Love Intro – boring
#4 News Intro – this just in, cheesy!
Karissa
Oh my word…some people have a lot of time on their hands. Ha! Soo funny!
Barry
Who doesn’t put up with freakin crap from anybody? Brad! Love it man.
John Parker
I had to go with the Shaft…
The Love intro was aweseome too. Those are great! Disturbingly great!!!
Joe
Comments:
Hip-Hop: The language of gangland brought to you, and popularized, by MTV where one can freely worship at the altar of stupidity with a click of a button.
Shaft: Relating one of America’s most influential pastors to ‘that man Shaft’ just doesn’t get it. ‘Freakin’ crap’?
News intro: “95% of church services in America suck out loud”? Christianity is under attack in the world and especially in America as it is.
Love intro: ‘Grab your favorite box of wine’? To a lounge theme music? Nope.
Use of words like ‘suck’, ‘crap’, freakin’, simply lend to the continued vulgarization of America.
I vote for none of them. This might be a good time for a BP talk on the ‘vulgarization of America’ ?
btw Brad! Great message today! As usual.

Greg
The shaft one is GREAT
Kathy
My vote is for the Love into.

I would have to COMPLETELY agree with Joe on almost everything said. I actually cringed when I heard some of language used. As a middle school teacher, in my twenties, I spend every day combating the language my students use. While I think we need to stay connected to our youth, this is not the way. I have great relationships with all of my teenage students, and they know I don’t tolerate words like “suck”, “freakin’ crap” and even “pimp”. Why use a word (pimp) that is used by men that sell woman for sex?? Or one (suck) that actually means a sexual act? Especially when referring to the body of Christ…
